FESTIVAL OF STEVE

FESTIVAL OF STEVE

The Festival of Steve is back for another year on May 24, bringing to the Kelvin Club the very finest merchants of menswear and fashion retail gems, hidden within Melbourne’s winding laneways and historic buildings. The expertly curated festival for the discerning Melbourne gentleman is in its second year, though presents no symptoms of the terrible twos, as the festival promises to leave guests with a look as dapper as ‘Steve’ himself.

Shun the shop-hopping and the hustle of the retail rat race – the festival brings quality suits, handcrafted accessories and bespoke styling together, leaving guests with an old-world saloon experience like no other. Carl Navè, a tailor committed to the perfect fit, will delight those who appreciate the art of looking good. Nave believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and this is truly a unique opportunity to experience the first-hand tailoring of an artisan. Melbourne suit bar Oscar Hunt will have its wide array of quality suits fabrics on display, giving guests the chance to compose the suit of their dreams. With a focus on traditional men’s tailoring with a dash of modern style, garments are custom made, following a one-on-one appointment with the experienced Oscar Hunt tailor.

Also on the day, New York-style boutique V&J Menswear will be exhibiting their fine range of suits and shirts, as well as running styling sessions and sharing advice on the best fits, wardrobe essentials, and instructing on the importance of etiquette and appropriate dressing for various occasions. They’ll be hosting an informative Q&A session and offering a holistic styling service that goes well beyond colour combination guides.

Leather bags, jewellery and a collection of optical frames and sunglasses are available for those who have a desire to blend fashion with functionality, sourced by Fokus. Located in the heart of Melbourne’s laneway Art precinct, Centre Place, Fokus is a boutique gem that celebrates fashion Melbourne style. Established in December 2000, the boutique has evolved with an emphasis on locally handcrafted accessory pieces by independent local designers. Other fashion and lifestyle retailers at Festival of Steve will include Mister Hewitt, Beggar Man Thief, 124 Shoes, Mattt, Melbournalia, Phillips Shirts, Milano and Co, Men + Co. Tying together the champions of men’s fashion and lifestyle, this man cave of hidden treasures is a unique experience not to be missed. Festival patrons will have the opportunity to make a donation to beyondblue at the door.

Of course being the tasteful festival of the modern gent, Geoge and his team will be attending with a tape measure in hand to find your perfect fit!
